Ground Training

Private Ground Tutoring is available on request by Certified Flight / Ground Instructors for all Pilot Ratings – Private, Instrument, Commercial, CFI, CFII, MEI, and ATP.

Private Pilot Package Plan
10 hour block rate is $50/hour                     $500
20 hour block rate is $45/hour                     $900
30+ hour block rate is $40/hour                    $1200

FAA Part 141 minimum requirements for ground training are 35 hours for Private Pilots License, 35 hours for Instrument Rating, and 35 hours for Commercial License.

FAA Part 61 has no specific requirements for the amount of ground training hours for these ratings.

A fair amount of ground training can be done by self study and every individual varies with both flight and ground training progress.  To give you an idea or an average, most flight students attending an accelerated commercial pilot’s course at a Part 141 flight school will utilize 50+ hours of personal instructor ground training for each rating.
